Default Auto shift-shock

When the automatic tranny of my 89 civic LX shifts from 1st to 2nd I sometimes get a shudder. Do any of you know what may cause this?

could be low fluid pressure or worn clutches...

checking the tranny fluid is about all you can do, make sure its toped off. if its the clutches then you should start lookin for another tranny or get that one rebuilt

It never actually slips or bangs. It just has that one thing. RARELY if I've been driving it on the interstate then get off and stop at a red light, the car will feel like it wants to die for a sec then stops. I myself thought it had a worn clutch and so it's not disenguaging well.
