Default Wiring for loudest/best sound

i have 2 12"s powered by a 2x225 @ 4 ohm 2X500 @ 2 ohm and 1x1000 4 @ 4ohm bridged. amp is 2 channel but i think that's self expanatory from specs.

question. right now i have it wired 4 ohm stereo. + to -, + to -. one goes to one 12, ones goes to the other. simple. im wondering if i can wire it for more bump.

thanks

allen

Not really, you appear to have SVC subs which limit your wiring options quite a bit. "loudest" and "best sounding" normally don't go in the same sentence. Hence the reson why there are the terms SPL and SQL

Can you explain how the wires are hooked up to the amp again? Also, what model sub is it?

it's just plain old normal wiring. one sub +,- to one channel +,-. the other sub +,- to the other channel +,-

oh yeah they are svc. yeah i didnt know how to word it correctly, spl vs sql. im not trying to win competitions just want to know other wiring options.

btw. they are audiobahn 12's in a bandpass box. the one you can buy off ebay

the only way of getting more bump out of it is getting a bigger amp. theres really no other way of wiring it.

you can't assume that bridging is the best way to go. he hasnt even given us all the info yet.

assuming he's running 2 svc 4ohms, and he wired them in parallels, the final load would be 2ohm. i dont think his amp can work with 2 ohms mono, let alone an audiobahn.

audiobahns might not be the greatest amps, but the can handle a 2ohm load. run the subs in parallel and bridge them across the two channels, but first make sure your subs can handle the rms wattage of the amp at 2ohms

the subs are audiobahns, the amp is some no name crunch amp. specs were 2x225 @ 4 ohm, 2X500 @ 2 ohm, and 1x1000 bridged @ 4 ohm.

all i know is that the subs are like 440 max or something like taht (says it on the sub)

thanks for the help. so i guess right now im wired at 4 ohm?

Well if they say 440 max then they can probably take 220 rms which is about inline with your how its wired assuming the crunch amp puts out what it is rated which is a big if. Right now you are wired 4 ohm stereo. You really dont have any other options with that amp. Your only other options are 8 ohm bridged (mono) which is pretty much the same power or 2 ohm bridged (mono) which your amp cant handle.
