Default Timing belt

If the timing belt skips a tooth on the gears, but doesn't break, is it enough to damage any valves?

The answer is ... maybe. Depending on where in the stroke the belt slipped, you could have had some valve to valve contact. Even just a small nick is enough to cause issues. Have a leak down test done to see if all the valves are sealing properly. Good luck.
