For those who haven't driven one yet...I'm in love. I'm used to driving my Prelude, and I drive RSX-S's all the time, but hands down the new Si is just incredible... So to anyone thinking of buying one, do it. h:

I opted for the EX coupe though, mainly for $$$ reasons. Not so much the cost of the car but the insurance difference from an SI to an EX is riduculous. I also probably coudn't afford the speeding tickets as the SI is a rocket.

Supposedly with a good launch around 6.7s... I havent had a chance to time myself yet, but I will say a couple things... I feel much more in control with the new Si compared to the RSX-S... I've driven probably 30 different RSX-S's down the freeway, down back roads..ect..(I work for a dealer) And I've always felt far more in control with my 1998 Prelude, It's like I could always anticipate what happens next...but in the RSX-S...just felt a bit too light..

The New Si rides/drives like a dream... And almost has me to the point of selling the lude...(I'd never do that though, I'll keep her for weekends, refinishing her soon)

 

i was planning on getting an ex for the same reasons but when i got my insurance quote the si turned out to be 300 bucks cheaper to insure than the ex, it made no sence to me. ive got AAA and have their good driver discount and good student discount. the only thing i can figure is that replacement parts for the K20 are more abundent than the r18; being a new engine and all. so i figure the 300 dollar savings will pay for the premium gas and the extra 3 grand for the si is totally worth it anyway, so si it is... its supposed to come in this week, i cant wait. ill post pics when i get it.

I went to several insurance companies (Ontario Canada) and couldn't get an SI insured for under $2100.00 per year. The insurance on my EX for a year is $1250.00. Big difference, but I am happy enough with the EX in 5 speed mode.

 

wow maybe my insurance company doesnt know what theyre talking about, the numbers i wrote down are 22,050 for the si and 23,500 for the ex.. thats AAA and ive got three other drivers on the plan. my si came in yesterday and im totally glad i went with it, WAY nicer than what i expected. Id say it would be worth the extra 750 a year but if your pressed for cash you gotta do what you gotta do

 

The difference you might be feeling is probably the tighter suspension and the LSD. I noticed that in driving my friends prelude it seems tighter then my stock RSX type S suspension but that will all change in the spring
