Default Looking for 86 corolla gts

Hi, i'm looking for a 86 corolla gts, for my little bro. It doesn't have to be anything special, in fact I would prefer it stock, since it will be his first car. Looking more in the $2,000 price range. Would prefer a manual, and kind of hoping to find somthing near TN. Thanks. Please pm me or email me at dj66@bellsouth.net

you wont find a 86 for that price, even if it doesnt have a motor. blame it on the initial d tax....

When you say 86 do you mean ae86, because if you do i think you would be wrong sir, because over on honda-tech they have an pretty clean 85 that runs for $1,000 even. I won't buy though because it's in vegas. he's got pics up and everything. So please do some research before you give anymore advice. I appreciate you trying though.

where you located at? I have a corolla SR5 5speed (RWD) silver with a lot of miles. I have it in NB. The motor will prob need a rebuild of course but most cars in the 80s are due for one, besides that the thing is cherry.

well if you researched your self you would realize the gts only came in a 5 speed. also im on club4age which is the 86 forum and i see them sell all the time for normally 3000-5000. also a sr5 is a far cry from a gts so of course they will be lower priced because they are not in that high of demand, and if you read what you orginally posted was that you are looking for a mostly stock gts for 2000, you made no mention of a sr5 at that point. so please go die in a fire no0b.

I was just wondering what the SR5 had anything to do with your arguement? He never said anything about an SR5, flybye did. The 85 that trace mentioned said nothing about the model of it, so one would assume that it was a GTS. Next time you post something that is to be offensive, please read the posters' names first. Also, the original author of this thread apologized for making a rude remark. I would suggest you follow his example and do the same.

This gentleman is looking for a mostly stock 86 GTS for around the $2000 range. Body condition and engine condition are subject to his desire for the car.

actually if you knew what you were talking about the 85 would be referring to ae85, which is essentially the sohc model, which can be had for the price that i quoted. ae85=sr5 essentially, both have the sohc motors in them. not only the motors are different but also the rear end. so one would not assume that when someone says 85 that they are talking about the year.

i posted my orginal comment as a joke and to bump a thread for someone looking for in my eyes a very worthy car to be had. it was misinformation that led me to post a reply along with the derrogatory (sp?) remark that was directed towards me. i would suggest that you know what you are talking about before you post a comment. i wont be posting here anymore as i dont want to hijack a thread.
