Default ATTN NYC People! I need a place to live

My GF and I need an apt to live in the NYC area. We've looked in Manhattan but it's just way out of our budget so we're thinking of other options such as the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. She works for a company that requires her to go back and forth between the Bronx and Manhattan so I want us to have a place that's accessible to those places.

Any kind of constructive inputs is much appreciated. Thanks.

wow....well honestly, I would stay away from Manhattan all together. There is no parking whatsoever. If so, you will need to move your car at like 8am due to alternate side of the street parking.
The bronx, is nice. You might wanna try looking at Pelham Bay for an apartment or so. Thats about the only nicest , non-ghetto place in the bronx....
As for Queens, I live in woodhaven. Very nice quiet neighborhood. Homes are priced 600k+, rent your looking at about maybe 1300- 1600 monthly.
Queens may be the best place for you. Closest comparision to Garland Texas.
Let me know when your up here home hunting and Ill help ya out.
My little sister does real estate.
If you want shoot me an email and let me know how much your willing to spend monthly on rent.

and Ill have my sister do a search for you in the nicest peaceful neighborhoods.

In queens, you wanna stay away from
Jamaica, the rockaways, Elmhurst, Corona.
Forest hills, Kew gardens, rego park, jamaica estates, is nice.

let me know and Ill help you out. I know what it feels like looking for a place being from another state and not knowing

My friend lives in Brooklyn. I went to see her two weeks ago. It was nice and her rent isn't too bad.

try jersey city, bayonne, hoboken, union city, north bergen, weehawken, edgewater, etc. these are cities and towns along the hudson river on the nj side across the river from manhattan. commute is comparable to the other boroughs, accessible by train, bus, ferry, car (not recommended).

Hoboken and Jersey City both have really decent places to live and are just a Path ride away from Manhatten

I've been told to check out Brooklyn but then there's so many places to look at. One area in Brooklyn I was told to look at is Williamsberg. Info like that would be much more useful.
