Default Car Alarm Questions

My sister is getting a Scion xA soon, but she wants to know about car alarms. The Scion car alarm is 500 bucks and she wants to know what are good aftermarket ones and how much they cost.
I know Viper alarms are good, but I don't know what models.

it'll depend on what options/features she wants.. i.e window controls etc.. it all adds up.

Yeah I'm not sure what she wants and neither is she.
The addon alarm has sensors for windows breaking, controls for door locks, trunk, and I think thats it.

For $500, I pieced together a brand new Viper 791vx with tons of options (PM and I'll tell you what I got and what install steps they took). As far as I'm concerned, my alarm whomps any factory alarm.

Viper's the way to go if you can find it for cheap.

I think I'll just tell her to go to a car alarm place and talk to them.

The one she showed me has window sensors, rolling alarm, kill switch, door locks, trunk, interior lights, exterior. I think she'll just go with that. I was showing her other Vipers and she basiclly ignored me. Whatever.

I think the Scion xA itself would be enough of a theft deterrant.

You can get a hell of an alarm for $500. Forget the factory one.
