I much prefer DVD over HBO...partially because I don't get HBO, but also because the video quality on DVD is a lot better. If I like a movie, chances are I'll want to rent it...why not spend an extra 10 or 15 bucks and own it?

i own about 265 dvds, and i've bought them, because i either 1) love the movie, 2) think i'll love it, or C) it was cheap and probably good. that 265 includes concert dvds and tv on dvd as well. i have a lot that i haven't seen yet. and i have a few that i wish i hadn't bought. but like dubby, i'd rather just buy it (if it's cheap enough) then rent it, that way i don't have to rent it and then buy it. that is, unless i'm totally not sure if i'll like it or not, and then i'll probably download it or something to check it out first.
