im putting a amp and sub in my car but im keepin my stock HU so i got the RCA converter hooked up, got the power and ground, now i need a place to connect my remote turn on wire but i dont wanna hack into the wires coming from the stock wiring harness coming from the car. wheres an alternate turn on point i can hook it up to?

ps i already thought of using a fuse in my fuse box but i cant without dismanteling the whole box and putting it back together so thats not an option

 

The remote turn on normaly isn't connected into the harness. You should be able to pull the radio out and locate the the remote. Most installers will just tape it off as there is no connection in the harness for it, mine was just taped on the oem stereo.

You could run the wire to somthing conected to your accesories. Or you could always run an 18awg wire right to your battery make sure its fused and have a toggle under your seat.

 

you can find the ACC wire and tap into that, anybody correct me if there would be a problem with that, but I believe that will solve your problem

 

don't forget to put a switch in so you can turn your amp off when the radio is off. most of the time it'll humm a lil with the radio off. you can get acc from your cig lighter or run off a fuse in your fuse panel.

 

the ACC wire is under the dash and can be easily accessed around the steering wheel area, and if you have a good ground there should be no humm

 

hum usually comes from alternate whine from the rca's and not just a ground loop problem.

 

when i pull the factory deck out theres no extra wires, and i dono the colors goin into the deck so i just hooked the remote into my fuse box but i need a switch

 

Just use ANY accessory power wire like fly said. Hell, if you know how to solder you can go to your ignition.

he has a factory stereo, so there won't be a REM wire.
