Im looking into swapping out my engine to a b16 or b18. What is the better choice of the two? I have about $15 to spend on mods, and I have a guy that will help me put it in. Any directions about wiring and Engine mounts would be great as well. I just dont know the pros and cons of each engine. Any help would be great! Going into a 93 del sol.

 

$15 aint going to get you much h: I would get an LS motor should be a direct bolt on. Just need LS shiftlinkage, axles and of course the motor, the wiring should plug right up to your harness

 

Honestly, the ls motor would be a step down from the del sol vtec d16. If you have vtec, do not swap to ls. Stock crank hp in a d16 vtec motor is about 125. Stock in ls is 130 or 140 depending on the year. Get a vafc and manage your existing vtec.
If you have $15, do not swap anything into anything. It's an expensive habit. If you find that you MUST swap something, b16a plus knick-nacks will run you ~$2000 on the cheap. If you strangely decide to kill your vtec, think b20. It's cheap and it fits in the bay. Just remember that shift linkage will need to be welded up (from the linkages of both crv and del sol) if you can't buy one from place racing or hasport. You will need to lengthen many wires, too. And eliminate all the vtec-related ones.
