Default will this work???

my friends have built a car, they put the motor and trans in, etc. they have a 89 Civic DX Hatch, they have a first gen B16A. they made the harness into what was missing by tracing each wire and aligning to a pin chart they got online. Now the only distributor and ECU they have is from an Integra B18A, the distributer fit in once they removed the added ear. I think they need a pw0 ECU, and a new distributer. is that the case??? there wondering if the b18a distributer will work. with a pw0 ecu, i said no. just double checking.

If it fits mechanically then I think it can as long as the wires are run correctly. The sensors within the distributor must be able to report to the ECU and the necessary power/ground wires must be connected correctly. If all of those elements are there, it will work.
