Default Antenna doesn't go up.

Hi again, my antenna does not go up when the radio is on. Not sure if it did when I got the car but sometimes my dad takes the car and listens to the radio. He says the signal is crappy, I checked and the antenna doesn't go up. I searched and all I could find is how to disable it, hehe. It's a stock cd player in '00 Si. Is there any switch or a way to turn on/off the antenna? I looked into the manual - nothing about it. Any help appreciated.

Also, check your power antenna lead from the back of your radio.

why don't ya just pull it up? If it were a fuse I would think other electrical componets wouldn't work.

Come to think of it, the previous owner did take out the stereo to get the serial number. He then called the dealer and asked him for a code, so that I wouldn't have to. He probably forgot to plug the antenna back in. I'll check that after the finals. Thanks guys, I wouldn't have remembered otherwise.

Quick question though, I have turned on the radio and when I touch the antenna with my hand the reception get much better, due to me being the antenna then. So this brings me to my previuos thought, if after touching the antenna the signal increases, wouldn't it mean that the antenna is connected to the stereo? I just don't want to go through all the hassle taking it out, unscrew the console and panel and other stuff just to go to the stereo. I guess that makes sense - antenna is plugged in, need to look for something else.

Sounds like the antenna itself is connected to the radio, but that doesn't mean that the wire that powers the antenna is getting power to the antenna. Did you ever check your fuses?
