Default paint job for $50???? no lie

browsing around and i found this site heres the link...just start scrolling down and youll see what im talken about...im gonna try this myself once i get down with the body work on my ef.

whats mineral spirits?? Is that like mineral water or is it some kinda of paint thinner??

forget that. it takes alot of time and patients!! i knew a guy that hand painted his cars, it took him like a year to paint a car! they looked nice, but not that nice!

mineral spirits is what you use right before you paint after you primer, it just gets all the dirt off the surface (i think thats right, i had autobody class for like 3 years but i've been out of it for a few months so im starting to forget!), i've seen that forum before and read it for an hour or so, and it seems that painting technique is legit

already read about it a few months ago. i might try it this summer.

its not the paint...but the prep and sanding that makes it look good.

very true. your paint can only look as good as the surface it's applied to. however... it helps to have a steady hand w/ the gun

i personally am not a huge fan of mineral spirits. it's juss as easy to use wax & grease remover between primer and basecoat. wax & grease remover is cheaper too... around here @ least.
