Civic Painting Questions

I was wondering if there was a special way to paint door handles and mirrors, because they come black and im worried that the paint will make parts of them stick or become solid and chip apart. Or will i just have to take it completely apart?

just remove the handles themselves. use masking tape to cover the moving parts (levers & joints). make sure it's thoroughly sanded and u shouldn't have any problems.
