i know it's really more of a short ram but it's a better filter and it flows more air it was just a cheap mod
but there is still the vent from the original airbox that brings fresh air in from the outside right around where the filter sits

Thats not a vent, it's a resonator. I give you props for the DIY but it would look a lot cleaner with the stock stuff on there and a K&N drop-in filter. Either that or you could have spent the 25 bucks and bought the whole tube and filter off of ebay.

a resonator?
why would you put a resonator before the air filter?
and do you have any pics of that valve cover you're selling?

oh you mean that piece of plastic that comes up along side where the air box is supposed to be i left that in just for no reason i guess but there is originally a vent for the air box that draws the air into the engine compartment i left all of that in there too

If you ask me all a short ram is. is just an asthetic appeal to the engine which I don't dissagree with but, it does make the engine bay louder just because of removing the resonator. As far as power is concerned, nor a short ram or a CAI won't show you squat for performance diffrence from stock. Do some real engine mods if you want to see some actual increase in performance.

They actually give you a slight performance gain, but like you said, minimal. Also, gas mileage is improved.
