Default turbo d16y7 spark plug pics, white plugs but rich??

First sorry about the pics.. MS paint chop owns me

Ok setup:

d16y7
log mani
Garrett T25

Running a mere 4psi for the time being. Going to turn up to 8psi when I figure this out and feel comfortable.

Running Crome and street tuning the AFR via PLX M300 wideband.
In crome I'm running the p30 code with the p06 map because there aren't any d16y7 maps. Maybe there is a huge timing difference between the y7 and the p06?? Timing is the only thing I can think of that would make them white.

The M300 is damn near brand new.

These are the plugs after about 270 miles.

The one with the specks on it is the number 1 cylinder.

The specks were there from my first basemap and haven't disappeared, but haven't gotten worse since I got the AFR's tuned.

I'm running about 13.8-14.5 at part throttle

Under boost it runs about 11 to 12. Its definately running rich according to my wideband...
but the plugs look lean to me.

I have one degree retard per pound.

In crome I added a bunch of fuel just to test it out, and my wideband went deep into the 10s under boost, yet my plugs still looked like this

Any ideas? The wideband is 24 inches downstream from the turbo like the instructions said.

Don't wanna turn up the boost until I'm sure things are ok.
thanks guys

they dont look bad. if anything slightly rich. but not much if any. if you really want to know, just get a dso and hook it up to your o2 sensor. you can tell all sorts of shit by watching the o2 waveform. thats where you will find what you need to know

by the way white is lean and sooty is rich. put another thousand on them and then take a peek at em. then whatever is happening will be easy to see.

The plugs are definately not rich lol... Not sure what you are talking about.

if they were rich the porcelian would be black, but its not, its clean as can be.

I'm looking for help on the signs of detonation and pre ignition. I noticed the specks and I'm sure I have slight pinging although it's not audible. Also how the ash area on the negative electrodes are broken up almost seems like something is going on.

Anybody here plug experts?

what plugs are you running? Did you switch to a colder plug? 11-12 af is right where you want it to be for boost. I agree this must be a timing issue, do you know anyone that has some more experience with crome near you? Maybe they can try some things to help the situation. UNCGOLF25 (aim SN) is a friend of mine that tunes Uberdata, crome, pretty much anything. Try telling him your issues and im sure he can help you.

Those plugs look pretty damn good.

It does look like there is a hint of preignition with those specks, so if you hear anything, pull the timing back a little bit. BTW, how much timing are you pulling per pound of boost?

Other than that, I don't see any problems with those spark plugs...the motor looks to be running well.

I'm running 1 degree of retard per pound to be safe. I had it at .75 at first but I was getting nervous with that.

The plugs are 2 steps colder and gapped to .035

what ae they, like bkr7e's? and the gap is fine. the only way to properly diagnose a spark plug is to run it through third gear all the way to redline, then shut off ur motor, pull the plugs then investigate.

these pictures are 2nd gear WOT pulls killed at redline... there aren't any areas around me to go 80mph in 3rd gear.

they aren't the bkr7e, they are the zfr7-11 or whatever the ones for the Y8/Y7 are, just two steps colder.

Try retarding the timing a degree or two, but it looks pretty damn clean.
