Default Air and Connector Issues

Hey everyone, quick question.

The 2nd butterfly on the h23a1 and h22 prelude si motors have a air canister that connects to the bottom of the manifold I realized that we have this and originally thought it was an evap canister. It has an electrical connecter so I believe it's the reason I have check engine light. The ecu is looking for it but it isn't there. How important is this unit if the 2nd butterfly can have a vaccum line directly from the manifold? Can it be bypassed mechanically and electrically? I ask electrically because I can't match the wiring from it to the original harness connections. They are pink/black-green stripe. If I can get some theories please help me out.

Whatever you do with the vacuum hoses, the ECU will know that the IAB solenoid is missing.
