srs light!!!
Hey guys got a question. My srs light is on, tryed reseting it with the classic paper clip method, so i dont pay moeny to honda for nothin. And the light just wont go off, what should i do and what do you think the problem ????
well here the problem it got stloen a while ago and when they broke the key lock thye tore the plastic cover covering the 2 wires that go the the steering wheel air bar and it came on...so i cut that and pulled out the wires and to give me elf mroe wires to work with put like a 3 inch portion of my own wire in between both (green, yello) wires to make a sure connection...that was 6 months ago, and has been fine ever since of course after doing that i reset it with the paper clip. and then yes about a week ago it just came on, mayby a short in the wires i used to connect the factory wires??? i redid the conections today with solder and heat shrink and reset it and after it blinks twice just comes right back on.
the only experience i had with an srs light is my mom had an accord wagon and the srs computer went bad and it had to be replaced about 500 bucks honda payed for it though and i wasnt even under warranty but since you tampered with the wiring i doubt they will if that is the case. and i guess you do know with that light on the air bacgs wont deploy.
sounds like they could have damaged some of the wires going on the SRS wheel.
The srs wheel is the black and yellow wheel behind your steering wheel.. it has a ribbon of wires that goes down to a plug under the steering column, and then out to the srs control module, the srs gravity sensors, and that srs junk.
If the ribbon was damaged it would throw the code.
also your airbag could just be faulty, throwing the code, also the gravity sensors under the dash go bad on occasion as well.
