its not my car yet..
i'm buying it off from someone and this is what she said
"Head gasket is leaking, though engine NOT seized.
Turns over but won't start".
she didn't contact me back yet but from what she said it look looks like she means that its the head gasket thats keeping it from working

Default hmmm

replace the head gasket, not turning on could be many things, a car needs air and fuel I would check to see if it's getting fuel (the fuel pump could have gone) is it turning over or just doing nothing? does it need a charge on the baterry or a new one?

Hope you're getting a good deal on something that's starting out so questionable.

ok this is what she wrote me.
"Here's what happened: car started idling rough once it was warmed
up (acted like it was going to stall). My boyfriend replaced
the PCV valve but that didn't help...still idled rough.
When I revved the engine, there was a white cloud of exhaust.
When he pulled the plugs, two had coolant on them.
The engine cranks but does not fully start. I think what's happening
is there isn't sufficient spark since there is coolant on the
plugs.
My Honda buddy at work says pulling the head/replacing the gasket
on this car is not too hard, just time consuming. I can't be
without a car, so that's why I'm not fixing it.
It has 133,500 miles on it."

Head gasket alright. Advanced stages of, too. Looks like you'll be replacing it, then, huh? Worth it to you?

Might want to get a kit and replace as many seals as you can. In addition to that, when was the timming belt and water pump replaced? Might consider changing them too. Everything is connected down there, so since you're gonna have everything off the car, might as well change it all.

Personally, factor in replacing the engine as a cost to the car...If its still a good deal buy it. Worse case senerio is always better than getting burned later. And besides a blown engine can still turn over...
