Default 0w50 Eneos Full Synthetic Race Oil-Good or No Good?

I heard and experienced the above in a GS-R. My buddy is running it in his car and swears that it's running GREAT! I took it for a spin and she pulls WELL, especially in VTEC range.

I've been running 5-30 mobil one synthetic and I'm quite content with it's performance. Would a 0w50 weight in our motors cause harm in the short term and or long? How would it benefit? Thanks!

Bad idea. That oil is too thin when cold (inadequate cold start protection) and way too thick at operating temperature (forcing the engine to work harder to pump it around.) A '95 GS-R should be running 10W30 in normal climates.

That's also a huge viscosity spread, meaning it's loaded with viscosity modifiers.

Like chris said i would never run ow-50 in a gsr. Just stick with the OEM 5w-30 and u will be fine. Keep the 0 weight oil to hybrids and Euro cars

Thanks guys for the feedback. I'll stick with the 5w-30.

Hello, this oil specific design for high power car because Nippon racing require high power engine protection. Most here not know Eneos and cost far too much to be known $20US/liter and outprice other Group V oils in US.

Exceeds:
API SM SAE 0W-50
Recommended for use in racing or highly modified street engines where an SAE 0W50, 5W40, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40 or 15W40 are specified. Commonly used in Formula 1, Champ cars, SCCA road racing, NHRA drag racing and circle track. Turbo and supercharged approved. Also recommended for early or late model high-output sports cars and hot rods. Excellent choice for dual duty engines used for street and competition use. Provides the ultimate cold temperature performance over Group IV/V Synthetic (petroleum - based) motor oils within the same viscosity grade.

So for having in your Integra this is nothing.

Somewhat interesting I guess but why did you bring up a year old thread?

I am raising this because of much misinforming about one of best oils in the world.
