My car is a 98 Accord EX I4. The car came with a factory alarm but the previous owner added an aftermarket alarm as well so the car has both. The Honda remote will work on the car but won't disarm the aftermarket alarm. The remote says 'Prestige' on it. My question is can i go to autozone or strauss and buy a remote to program a 2nd remote or MUST it be a prestige remote?

Does anyone know how to program a remote for an aftermarket alarm system? I got a Prestige remote off ebay but it didn't come with instructions.

 

Have you tried their website? I would had bought it from them.

 

They stopped making that aftermarket alarm and they sell other remotes but not that specific one that came with my car.

 

is it prestige as in audiovox perstige?

im not sure what site u looked at but the audiovox website should have the manual online just search for the exact model # on ur remote

They have the installation manual and owner's manual for that alarm on their website. I read them both to see if they have anything regarding programing another remote but neither manual has anything about it. I'm going to call Audiovox during normal business hours to see if anyone can help me out.
