Default black or red whats the difference

have question i bought a integra and they told me that it is a gsr buti'm not sure becuase it has no badges but the gsr i have seen on the internet have black valve covers and mine is red or does that really matter and how can i tell what kind it is

look at the engine code... if it has a red valve cover either it has been painted, they replaced it with a red typ-r cover, or they swapped the engine

the engine code you are looking for will be b18c1

now i'm not sure where but look around the top of the engine on the head- you should see a stamp somewhere saying pr3 or p72

the numbers you want are b18c1 for the engine code and p72 for the head stamp.

in anycase it seems that something on this car has been modded before and whoever did it was seriously into it... i would highly suggest looking somewehre else for a stock model, even if you have to pay a little bit more.

Does your tach redline at 7 or 8k? Run the vin number and you'll know exactly what model it is. Regardless of a swap.
