my 90 integra gs makes a loud tapping sound only when it warms up. i think its coming from the pistons. it did it for a while then stopped. then when i changed the oil a couple weeks ago it started up again. it drives fine but i wanna know what it is before it gets too expensive

 

where is it coming from? your head, block..... you probably need a valve adjustment and its your valves ticking. if not then it could be your bearings and or pistons. is it a slap or a tap sound??

 

my civic just started doing this, this morning. just changed the oil over the weekend too. it taps every so often then goes away after being warm. 135k on her same timing belt, never adjusted. so yours could be adjusting or what about timing belt. HAVE YOU EVER done the 90k tune up?
