ls turbo build up need info
hi all i have a 94 teg ls b18b1 stock, just got a used turbonetics turbo kit for it. i know for sure ill need to put new main, rod bearings, and rings in it but what else pistons will the stock ones hold up? also i do not know much about missing link, fmus or if i need any thing other than whats in the kit.
Err, well...
Unless you're doing any bottom end work, your rings and bearings will be perfectly fine as long as you run no more than 40% over stock power output from the engine (WHP, not crank). I don't know what your kit is capable of but a stock engine will be fine on moderate boost.
As far as fuel management, I would imagine your kit came with some sort of lamer reflash. I recommend this to anybody who has purchased a kit, especially if it's an FMU...get a real management system.
A good management is key to making the most power and making your car the most reliable. Hondata and Crome are two companies you should look into, Crome being the cheaper alternative. I personally don't have any experience with it but there are a few guys on here who swear by it.
