i just bought a car...and the person i bought it from said the engine was swapped with a lower mileage d16y8...soo i was trying to find the vin number on the engine to see if its different from the cars...and what i found was this (picture below)...and its the same vin as the car...is this the engine?? or transmission?? and when you get motor swaps with the same engine...do they usually come with another transmission too?? if this is not the vin for the engine, where can i locate the vin at?? thanks

 

thats the transmission vin.

The engine vin is down on the underside ususally, by the oil pan. Not all engines have them. but I think y8's are new enough that they should
