Is the offset to low or would it be fine on a civic with mild lowering (1.5"-1.8")

Just want to make sure if its possible or not to run 7" wide wheels with that kind of offset. Thx.

 

It is possible, but you may have rubbing issues depending how low and camber.

I've ran:

15x7 +45
16x7 +38
15x6.5 +38


The +38 offsets have always rubbed for me during turns on a 2.5 inch drop.

 

ok, thanks. I have a bit of tire rub too with the stock teg wheels on 205's when the wheel is all the way left or right. What offset would work the best in 15x7? +40, +42, +45?

 

42-45 should be good.

 

I think they will rub. Especially since I ran +38mm offset with -2.5 camber with 15x7" wheels and 205/50x15" tires.

I guess you could opt for 195/55/15 if you don't mind losing a little tire width.

 

If you are going to use them on the street stay away from the lower numbered offset they look awkward when they stick out too far.

 

Yup ran 15x7" Kosei TS +38mm offset with 205/50x15" Azenis. Now the Azenis are known to be a bit wide, but they rubbed BAD!

 

So you wouldn't recommend them in that offset on 'thinner' 205 tires (es100's)?

I've always wanted a set of the original k1 single spoke design. Any idea where i could get a 15x7 set in at least a +40 or higher offset. Can't seem to find them anywhere.


I'd like to stick with the 205's and lower profile 50 sidewall. I don't want to have to compromise with tire sizes if I'm going to spend the money on a new set of wheels.
