Default Fixin it up.

Alright, I have a '92 Civic DX, and I'm going to be fixing it all up/customizing pretty soon. First of all, i need suggestions on places to to buy some custom stuff, whether it be online, or not. Second, any recomended books or manuals that i buy to help me. I really want to mostly redo the interior, but im also putting in an SOHC d16z6 from a '95 EX, and a new tranny. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Anyone else got any good wesites or anything i could buy stuff from? Preferably interior stuff, like carpets, guage clusters, ect. I'm doing the whole interior, as well as a possible engine swap, new tranny, new axles, and probably a paint job. Thanks.

I say go there too. Whatever you take out that's stock, keep it clean when you take it out. Clean up your old parts and slang-em on ebay. It will help balance out what you spend. That way, when you pay for stuff, you can use the money in your paypal account and you don't feel as though you've come-out-the-pocket as much. But I agree, you learn a LOT when you break shit. lol You're gonna have to just DO IT yourself. Another way is to hit a car show and talk to heads that have done similar things to their rides that you're trying to do to yours.

I haven't heard the word "customize" in a long time.

Alright, finaly got started today> Got most of the interior out so far, cleaned it up, stripped of all the armorall and such, ready for painting tomorrow. I still have to order the carpeting, so it might be a while before I get the interior finished. I'm wondering if anyone is interested enough that i should be posting pics along the way? Let me know guys, thanks.

97civicEXVTEC: Whats wrong with customizing? Or were you just saying no one has said that in a while? If not, i dono what to call it...personalizing?

what i think he meant by customizing is that everything has been done...so it isnt customizing anymore....it is called copying. sure some stuff hasnt been done but it is going to cost a lot of money to be "diffrent". and that isnt why you bought a civic in the first place. i would say...screw the interior...keep it factory clean. i really do laugh at people with white interior pieces or yellow....or red....etc... black is good!!!!
as for books....i would pick up a copy of honmda acure enthusiats. shoudl be at any book store. it is a great book to teach you te basics. it isnt a how to but more of an idea starter.
keep it clean and simple....you will thank me when your done.

Gahh, I'll do some of the work for you:

cus·tom·ize (kŭs'tə-mīz')
tr.v., -ized, -iz·ing, -iz·es.

To make or alter to individual or personal specifications: customize a van.
cus'tom·i·za'tion (-ĭ-zā'shən) n.
cus'tom·iz'er n.

So I actually am customizing it, whether it has been done before or not, it's still customizing. And I actually am doing it black. Thanks for the advice tho, and I'll check out the book.
