im new so please dont flame me, but what are the specs on the d16z6 . i bought what was described as a 93 dx with an ex ctec swaped in but the dx harness so the vtec was disable to alow smog- does any of this make sence? what do i really have under the hood? block says D16Z6 1100556 and the head is labeled D111270708 then p08-5 and the ecu serial is 37820-pm6-l00 what does all that mean if anything? i am SOOOO confused and i need to know cuz i want to buy mods but dont want to buy the wrong ones for the engine i have. any input will help. thanks

Does the head have a little bronze cylinder(vtec selenoid) on the back near the distributor? If your block says d16z6, then yes the block is a z6. As for the head, I've never messed around with a single cam so I don't know their head codes. The specs are 127hp and I think 106ftlbs of torque. If your car isn't wired for vtec, you can easily add the wires yourself. It takes about 15 minutes to run the wires to the ecu and solder them.

no hoses just three wires......and proper ecu. vtec obd1 sohc.

A yellow wire with a green stripe for the vtec solenoid can be found on the engine harness and must be pinned in at A4. The vtec oil pressure sensor can be found as a blue wire in the harness and must go to D6. and then the black is ground.

look in the "sticky" for the proper ecu pinout palcement for the ecu conectors
