Default CX hatch, GSR engine, EK harness!?

Heres what i got, can ya point me in the right direction?
I have a stock CX hatch. 2 piece harness....
Just got a US 98 GSR engine etc.
BUT the engine came out of a 6th generation civic (1piece harness) and thats what is attatched to the engine/sensors now.

Should I scrap the EK harness and use my stock one? Does it plug into the sensors on the engine?

If you must use your stock harness, you will have to swap those three things (Or rewire your harness). It would be cheaper and easier to buy a OBD2 GSR harness, which would simply plug in with no problems at all.

how would that be easier if he has an OBD-1 CX?

you guys got me confused now...I guess i could go either way? I'm not sure what to do now...Honestly this is my first swap, well obviously....I thought i read online if i use the gsr harness to the shock towers, everything will plug in? (including all sensors) but then do i run OBD1 or 2 ecu? and if i did that and ran OBD1 do i need to change the injectors and other stuff (i duno what else? distributor?)

Or is there an easier way to approach this that im not seeing?

Because an OBD2 GSR harness will plug into an OBD1 CX with no problems at all and allow him to use all OBD2 stuff rather than frankensteining the shit out of the engine.

You would use an OBD1 ECU. The problem isn't that the two OBDs aren't compatible, it's that the connectors and/or wiring on a few things are different. It all turns out the same by the time it gets to the ECU as long as you use the same OBD wiring and parts.

so it would work if i went GSR engine harness to shock tower plugs...CX harness to the ECU, then use OBD1 ECU and wire whats necessary.

Depending on pure luck, everything might be wired... or not. At max you'll need to run 3 wires between the engine harness and the ECU. For simplicity what I did was get a little extension harness that goes between the chassis harness and the ECU, but has all 80-some pins wired. Then I spliced into that. Much nicer than driving yourself crazy repinning stuff.
