Default LOW redline

so you guys know.....i have a del sol with a d15b7 ..... i also have an acura integra w/ no motor....im currently saving up to get a gsr 4 my integra but at the same time i wanna work my del sol motor. Down the road i will out a gsr in the del sol but 4 now i wanna build up my first single cam... and thanx to u guys i kknow alot.... but..... i still have questions........how do i get my red line to be higher than 6 1/2???????? wat do u guys suggest i do??????

all i have now is a short ram intake, full custom exaust, shortshifter, platinum spark plugs,strut bar, and im purchasing an ex tranny. thanx in advance!

It easy really, you dont need a higher redline. You wont make any more power reving the motor higher. The only way youd be able to safly rev the motor higher is by upgrading the valve train and the cam, and that would be dumb on a d15.

i thought that technicaly if you remove the rev limiter it you get more power but not safe at all.

just because you rev a motor higher doesnt mean your making power the whole way

k..... wasnt sure.... just seemed like that would be the case. ;p but im just an animation major so.... im alowed to not know things :-D

no.... you loose power before you hit your rev limiter anyways ...their is a power decrease after your peak so it would be pointless and a bigger chance to blow your engine

right right right....... so you shouldt go all the way to redline then... so whats the benifit of having the rev limiter higher than the top of the power curve?

i would imagine to give you a chance to shift before hitting the rev limit

so when they say red lines at 6500 thats where it bounces off when you realy wanted to shift at 6000? well...... there ya go.... thanks
