Problem with 03 Civic Door lock
Hi!
I have a problem with my 03 civic driver side door lock. The key wont turn inside. It was turning with some difficulty after wiggling at first but after a few days it stopped turning altogether. The door opens from the inside and the power locks work fine. I tried some lubrication using silicone, WD40 and even anti-freeze (to see if the lock was frozen), but no luck. Can someone help me take apart the door lock so that I can see what the issue is and perhaps lubricate it better. I understand this involves removing the front door panel, but I dont know how to go about it. Any pics from knowledgable experts would be very welcome. Can I remove the door handle from the outside to have a better look? If so how do I go about it?
This problem got aggravated after I moved to Portland, so my guess is the rain water washed off the lubrication.
Thanks in advance.
