Default 1st Car!!! Can i please Get opinions before buying???

I'm only 16 and a Junior in high school. I do have a part-time job, but it doesn't pay atoo good well and I have some other stuff to pay.

Recently I discovered that well... I need a car. My parents said that they would help me some but it's still my responsability to pay. My range is about $4,000-$5,500 so of course I'm going to get something used. After reseaching a bit and asking some people around I've come to the conclusion that a Honda Civic is my best bet.

I need a car that- looks good and kinda nice. A car that is reliable and won't leave me stranded on the road. A car that doesn't use gas like crazy. A car that can last me a few years until I can get a real job and have more money. Basically, a decent car that I can use to get around town to do what I need to do. I will use it most of the time but my parents will also use it from time to time. We are a family of 4(mom, dad, me, and baby sister), so a 4-5 passanger car will be good.

Alright I have looked on AutoTrader and this car caought my eye-
http://tinyurl.com/7whor

It looks good to me but I really don't know much about cars thats why I ask =D And teh CarFax reort doesn't say one bad thing bout it.

Any opinions will be extremly appreciated.

Be wary of buying cars around the 90k mark because you may end up having to perform the spendy maintence thats required at 90k (such as timing belt) since if the owner was planning to trade in their car they probably neglected those things.

Also you might do better looking for a manual if you want a used car...an abused auto transmission is expensive to fix

TRUE MAN!!! Looks to be a good car to start out on.... Though i would prefer a manual, but that looks like a good car for your pricerange. Hopefully, you wont have to replace that tranny any time soon. That kinda thing can kick your wallet's ass.

But I really want an Automatic car since I'm only 16. manual is just too confusing for me =/ Also, my mom will sometimes need to use it and she doesn't like driving manual.

And alright guys any more opinions on the car? Anything I might be mission or something?

nah it looks sound but as RICOD said if u werent planning on upgrading it,it would be fine but then later u have to do the auto to manual swap (which is cost consuming), i would look into a manual (its also so much more fun to drive) a lil confusing at first but well worth it in the end!!!
