Default heat shield?

quick question about my heat shield, its been rattling for some time now and getting on my nerves. would it hurt to take it off while im waiting on my new shield to get in?

nah, u'll be fine w/o it.
just get new headers instead of a heat shield

I believe he's talking about the heat shields under the car.

Or just keep repositioning them. Bend them little by little.

naw, its the heat shield over the catalytic converter. so i was wondering if heat buildup would be a problem w/out it on?


edit- aight i might try the bending be4 i buy anything

are any of the screws/bolts missing from it or loose? thats usually the only thing that should make a heatshield rattle. why buy something when you can just turn a wrench for free.

It is probably rusting away at the corners, where is the screws are holding it down. Just get some 4" hose clamps and tighten that bad boy back up.

Edit:
I just had to do this to my teg....4" hose clamps were $1.51 each at Home Depot.
