Default clutch or fuel pump?

when i put my foot on the clutch a loud thumping noise comes from the transmission are and the whole engine shakes violently.. im already replacing the clutch as it has 150k miles on it anyways. but could it have been the fuel pump? why would the engine shake only when the clutch is depressed and not when its in neutral if it was a bad fuel pump?

thats what i thought. a friend of mine said its the fuel pump because fuel isnt being given where its needed. which made no sense because it only did it when the clutch was depressed. thx

the shaking only happens when the clutch is engaged. in neutral at idle its perfect.
