i bought my whip (96 rs) with 217k km (approx:130k miles) the thing runs like a champ although ive only used it for about 5 hrs in total, cause it had to be put away for the canadian style winters...........my question is, with proper maintenance how much more life can i get out of this engine.....just installed performance rad, ball joints, timeing belt

if you dont drive it hard, you change the oil every 3k, coolant annually, and the waterpump eventually, you can run for atleast another 100k. Thats with MORE than proper care. Be nice to it. treat it well, and it will do the same foryou.

 

ive seen tegs w/ 200k...miles...on them
then again my buddies went at 100
all depends i guess. get a compression test done, and mabye a few other checks

 

when i pulled the motor on my teg to do my turbo build it had 186000 miles on it. when i tore it down it looked better than motors ive seen with less than a 100k. as long as you treat it right u should easily get 200k outta it. but preventive maintenence is ur best friend when it comes to longevity

 

my 90 teg has 208,xxx miles on it and its still running strong. just changed the oil and watnot. no major problems with the engine either

 

some dude in england hit 000,000 on his odo sometime last year i think...so how high you want to go really depends on how well you take care of it

 

no shit 1,000,000 so with all the proper maintenance i can get alot of life outta this thing i mean its only 130miles (210km) there is a long way to go untill a million ......post pics of supercharger

yeah....it is possible , but honestly it's not something that you should expect...even with all the proper maitenance and perfect driving/conditions for the life of the car... a rough estimate on the lasting life of a honda is (~300,000) but you have a long way to go as long as you take care of it...
