Default Steering wheel question

Hi,

I want to get a new steering wheel (it's the only thing I don't like on my car); ALL the &*%$/ streering wheel I see (like this one below) have the
same warning : DO NOT USE ON ANY VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH AN AIRBAG !

Questions :

a) Why can't I just install this thing ?
b) Anybody ever done something similar ?
c) What am I missing here ?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Because disabling the SRS system on an SRS equipped car is illegal.

Well I guess I broke the law. But then in a way there is always something illegal or questionable w/our cars, whether it be the airbag or something else. Anyways, you can put an aftermarket wheel on but it will disable both airbags. It is illegal? Yes, but I've pulled over before w/my aftermarket wheel and the cop didn't even acknowledge it. Maybe he didn't know, but I asked my father n law who is a cop in Arcadia CA and he said it depends on the cop, but most don't sweat it, since there is still plenty of cars on the road that don't have airbags. Some people have kill switches too for airbags if they are too short and have to make out w/the wheel when thety drive, so ther you go...does it make it ok? No, but obviously there is other factors.

If it is for the same yr. it should hook up to the SRS harness, and no matter what fit 90-01 Integras.

Alright so now we're talking...

Centerforce99 : I would really appreciate a pic of your new steering wheel. Also I'd like to know: did you install it yourself ? Any tricks I should know of ?

I don't have a new steering wheel. Do you mean my current wheel or the aftermarket one? It's for sale in the classfieds about a 100 post ago w/pictures. I did install it myself and you need to hotwire the horn of your going w/a non srs wheel. Everything is wired through the SRS reel. Without that your steering wheel is dead.
