from auto to manual, how hard is the labor?
I'm pretty sure that it can be done. Hell a person could make the car RWD if they were rich and crazy enough.
But as far as the swap goes I believe it would be pretty damn intensive. It's not just the tranny itself but all the little things you'd have to replace or modify. For example: Gauges, shifter, clutch pedal and mechanisms and clutch master cylinder etc.

I actually had it done with an old civic ex auto. I had a DX tranny put in. The most expensive part is that they have to lift the engine out which anytime that is done it gets pricey... but it was in total 700 clams.

There is no need to lift the motor out.
I have done it 3 times and it's worth it.
