Default Warped brake rotors..?

When Im slowing down from comming off the highway, my steering wheel jerks back and forth really fast. And the other day, I was stuck in traffic, going down a hill, riding the brakes so I wouldnt hit the car infront of me. The brakes would catch, then release, then catch agian, all in the same intervals. I was putting the same amout of pressure on the brakes the whole time, so it wasent like I was randomly stepping on the brakes. Could this mean my brake rotors are warped/bent at all? I just replaced the brake pads about 2 months ago, so I dont think its the pads. Its a 2000 Civic LX (if that matters any). Thanx for any help.

Default definitely sounds like rotors to me.

My wife's Passat was doing the same thing recently. I pulled the rotors off and took them to O'Reilly's to get them turned. When I picked them up, they were worse than before. After much back and forth and my insistence on investigation, it turns out their machine had a bent shaft. Comp'ed me two NEW rotors (they should have).

Have you run through a water puddle recently while the brakes were warm? That'll do it every time.

sounds like it to me too. If ride the brakes alot you have more potential to warp your rotors. Because you are building up more heat than most other drivers do.

the same thing was going on with my 2000 civic si, it's b/c the rotors are warped in my case from heavy braking all the time, i took them to the honda delarship and got them turned and they stopped perfect like a bran new car, but it cost 350$ so i should have just bought some power slot replacement rotors.

Can anyone recommend me a good set of brake rotors (cross-drilled, preferably)? OEM size would be best, so I dont have to mess with anything. Thanx.

I got a set of Brembo Blanks for my 96 EX. Works just fine for daily and only cost me $80 shipped. Oh and if you go with drilled rotors, good luck finding someone to turn them if they go bad. Most shops won't turn drilled rotors.

$350!!! I would have laughed in their faces!

Just get Brembo blank rotors. At $50/set it's a cheap and good option. I used it for the past 2 years of autocrossing with great results.

Do you have to pump your brakes? if you do then it would be your MC. Also check if your piston if its leaking. It happened to me and i had little braking power from the brake fluid leak.

If its the rotors go with the Brembo OE blanks.
I'm about to order mine with AEM pads and the Brembo OE blanks
