Default Brake lights stay on unless I disconenct the battery

If you don't drive a car a couple of times a month look what happens. I drove my coupe to the track last week ad now my dam brake lights stay on unless I disconnect teh battery. I tried pulling fuses and leaving the battery diconnected and i tried messing with the brake pedal switch and they still stay on. WTF?

If you want to do this yourself, pull the wires out of the brake light switch. Is the light still on? if so, you have a short someplace. If not, the switch is activating the light and you need a new switch.

I assume that the pedal isn't resting on the switch and is activaing the light. You can check that by pulling up on the brake pedal and having someone tell you if the lights go out. If that is the problem, the switch needs to be adjusted or the brakes need to be fixed to raise the pedal.

If you have a manual car, I have the brake/gas pedal assembly I can sell you, which houses the switch

It isnt that. There is a plastic "plug" that attaches to the break pedal and what actually touchs the negative switch. (thats why pulling the fuse didnt turn it off, it's a negative switch). That plactic piece broke off. You can put in a short nut and bolt, or get the plug from the dealer. It happens all the time.

I cant believe some of the responses on these boards sometimes. Like hondatech, (at least when I was on there) it just seems like everybody want to do stuff the hard way.

dosn't the light come on from the e-brake? maybe you have to adjust. The light dose'nt come on every time you step on the brake.
