Default 7-8 PSI on a Z6 with 142k miles?

what do you guys think? i take pretty good care of my car, i dont think that there is major problems with it. Do you think my z6 can handle 7-8 psi on stock internals?

Yes a z6 can easily handle 7-8psi on stock internals. However, you need to make sure everything is in proper working cond. Compression and leakdown tests will be your best bet to make sure you have correct compression in all cylinders.

Just remember that its not so much the PSI, because between larger and smaller turbos, its a big difference. What turbo do you plan on running?

t3/4 maybe...im not really sure, wut is the proper compresson per cyld?

With a hybrid, you should be alright on 7psi. Im getting ready to be boosted on my z6 w/ a T3 .42/48 w/ an internal wg set at 7psi. You will be fine, just do those tests, and replace your oil and water pump for sure.

Im not sure on the proper CR, you will have to check HT or just wait for someone to fill in.

yeah...i look in cali...so i think i wanna keep my AC...so i defininly aint going internal wg. Im thinking maybe t3 .42/48 with an external wg on a 8 psi spring

you don't just live in cali, u live in the desert part of cali (Lancaster/Palmdale) but its all good, you have LACR. Was just there last night, ran crappy and it was FREEZING cold.

you should be sure to do the timing belt and water pump if they haven't been done before.

You can run internal wg w/ AC. It just depends on the manifold you choose to go with. You have to make sure its AC and PS compatible. Internal wg is good for low boost running on stock internals (External is good for high boost)

Also, as stated above you definitely need to change your timing belt, oil and water pump, and run 2 step colder NGK plugs. With 142K, you may also want to change you fuel filter if you havent done so already.
