If you owned a 2000 si shell (I do ) full interior, full suspension, only things missing are the hood, front bumper, and head, out of curiosity how much would you sell it for or would you keep it and just rebuild it. Only asking cause I dont really have enough money to fix it fast, but I really, really need a car.

i understand that you need a car but at the same time.. if u fixed it & sold it ... u would get a crap load more money out of it.. or just fixed it & drove it!

either way.. it's worth a whole lot more as a whole vehicle vs. parting it out

 

I would say part it out. People are always looking for parts.

But for as money, keep it buy a beater for now and work on the si as the money comes in.

 

Fix it, then sell it (or keep it).

 

Sounds like you are tight on money. I think the problem will work its self out real quick.

Ad up what it'll cost to fix it. Is the body rough? The rest of the engine rough? You could try to sell it as a project but that'll take a little longer (or not) to find a buyer. If you had time and talent (LOTS of time), you could part it out on ebay and make more than the car is worth as a whole. I wouldn't recomend that if you are tight for cash and need a car.

Get a savings account so you don't get yourself in a jam like this in the future.

 

Keep it and work on it as you pull in the cash. If all you need is a head and some body parts, it wont take much to finish it up. I think you would regret it (if you really like this car) if you sold it and started making some cash. That's usually how shit works out. But just work on slow and steady, and you will be fine (i think).
