Do you have a Auto or manual? It depends on quite a few things, but generally around 32-35mpg, somewhere around there.

EDIT: Its VTEC not V-tec, vtech, vteck, or vtek.

I have a 5spd,any ideas on what the amount of miles should be when I reset the trip set.I have been 215 miles on almost a full tank of gas, just seems like I should get more miles than that out of a full tank.215 miles and it's now between 1/8th and 1/4 tank???Thanks

it depends on alot of stuff
first off what kind of car do you have

just saying 5 speed isnt enough, you could have a 5 speed ex, dx, a 5 speed si, you could have a 5 speed coupe, hatch or 4 door.

tell us
the model of the car
the trim of the car
the year of the car
how you drive the car
in what conditions (traffic wise) you drive the car

It is a 95 5spd ex 2dr coupe,I drive it very very easy and never get in to it at all.And it's 95% highway driving, with all that in mind, that's what has raised the red flag saying that I think I should be getting a little more that 230 miles to a tank of gas,but I guess that might be normal, that's why I was asking what you guys see in your stock cars that you drive normal.

well how many MPG are you getting average, next time you fill your tank set the trip odometer or note the mileage

then the next time you goto the pump take the ammount of miles driven and devide it into the gallons of gas it takes to fill up the tank.

exactly how fast are you going on the highway? above 60 gas mileage starts to plummet because of the throttle position and RPM required to keep the car at speed.

in my GSR i'd get about 220-240 miles to the tank, with pretty sprited driving

I would say something's wrong with the car. If you drive it gently and most of the miles are highway (i.e. better mpg), I would think you should be getting at LEAST 330 miles out of a tank. This would be about 30 mpg assuming an 11 gallon tank.

I've got a 96 EX (D16Y8 VTEC), and I do a mix of in-town/highway driving. I've got an LX tranny in it, which helps out my mileage, but if I get ONLY 330 miles out of the tank, I'm pretty pissed. Lately I've been getting 32-37 mpg, and that is very dependent on how hard I drive. I've hit 400 miles on one tank on a couple of occasions in the not so distant past.

Thanks for the info,I know that this car should be getting alot better gas mileage,I even pulled the plugs and they are burning perfect.I knew as soon as I saw the car almost to 1/2 tank and I had only been a hundred some miles that something wasn't right,I wonder what the hell it could be.I posted this because this is the 1st v-tec car I have owned and I wasn't sure if maybe they just didn't get good gas mileage or something!!
