Default JDM Type-R ecu vs. JDM B16 ecu

I have a JDM B16, which one should I use or does it even make that big of a difference.

Use the correct one for your motor...JDM b16. Only use different ecus from stock if they are chipped for your setup, or needed for a fuel management system ie hondata.

Agreed.

Im not about all those ECU chips where it changes your vtec timing, and rev limiter. All those do is ruin your motor. Like Tx said, you only need it if it's running your fuel mgmt, or something alike.

I have both ecu, I'm going to sell the Type-R one becuase I want to run the correct one now. My b16 ecu is obd1 and the car is obd2, if I buy the conversion harness should I have a check engine light?
