i have a crack in my manifold...i mama's boyfriend is a welder so i was wondering wat kinda material is the manifold made out of...i can just tell him wat is made of and he will tell me whether he can or not...he works on heavy machineray...thanks

 

its cast and therefor not really recommended to weld on.

 

yeah cast. I believe I have welded them before. You have to get the metal hot before you weld it since its such a heavy gauge. But it can be done.

 

cast Aluminum = intake
cast Steel = exahust

Have you looked for a used one? may save a lot of work.
