94 civic ex auto 2dr 130k
if it shifts at 2500ish its smooth but 3k or 3500 it shifts hard. any idear why

 

have you changed the trans fluid?

 

Same thing happend to me. Turns out my clutch disc was broken.

 

i doubt the trans fluid was flushed. i hear that if you do it for the 1st time and its been a while.......130k on her............it can break free old particles and mess shit up. i checked the fluid and its on mark. smells a little burnt but its clear red.
