Default iac

i gotta replace the iac on my 2000 civic. is it just a matter of unbolting the old and bolting on the new or to i have to adjust it once its on? and if so, whats the procedure for adjusting it? thanks

"unbolt" it, and bolt the new one in.

When you start you car, see where it idles. If its revving high even after its warmed up, then you need to adjust it, so it idles around 800-1000. Adjusting this, is done w/ a flathead (i think?) Shit its been a while.

800-1000 for idle is high dude. The helms book says to stay in the 400-700 area once its warmed up

400-500 rpms is too low for idle for me. I set it at 750 RPMS and it purrs !!!

and yes, adjusted with a flathead

Yea, maybe 1000 is a little high, but mine is steady at 800 and she's perfect.

After you unbolt, and bolt the new one one (and re-attach the hoses) you should bleed your coolant.
