Default Help protect me from my Scary Brakes

I have 93 LS w/out abs. A week ago i was losing mass brake fluid and found a banjo nut was a lil loose allowing fluid to leak out. So now after tightening the bolt I can be driving and my brakes will be really hard with lil pedal effort then next time i will brake they are soft and pedal is almost to the floor. Also when pedal is hard im can feel that the pads are dragging slowing the car considerably. Is this from air in the line or a master cylinder preimenent warning of failure. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like air in the line.

bleed the brake system. that should remove the air.
