Ok so I have a 97 hatch and it is droped but has 03 civic ex steelies with the ex caps..So it has that stock look to it which I like but don't know if im gonna keep it that way. Well I was wondering what you guys think of the black painted intercooler. I like the silver look just because I like how it stands out and people know ... hey thats turboed..haha but anyways just let me hear what you guys think about it. It would give it that total sleeper look which doesn't really matter anyways... street racing is stupid. But just curious.

Oh by the way its a purple-ish 97 ek hatch with ls turbo in it rsr exhaust... and such not showy at all.

get it anodized instead of painting it if you can

 

Johnny Racecar sells anodized black intercoolers. Painting is fine as long as you just paint two light coats on. I have been running my painted one for a year now with no problems.

 

yea if youve got $240 then i would get the anodized one from jrc, there pretty damn nice. That being said i spent 179 and spent the 4 bucks on a can of spray paint. I love that my intercooler is black, it gives me peace of mind knowing that my car looks like some POS to anyone walking by, and not a potential target like it would with a shiny intercooler glaring out the front. And sence im a shameless pic whore.....heres my intercooler

Looks good, but the intercooler piping popping out the sides of the bumper kills the sleeper look. :chuckles:
