Default Turbo and transmission for an automatic

I have a 95 integra ls auto and I have a couple questions. The car is in really great condition and I've fixed up nicely to the point wear I'm done with how it looks and I want to focus more on performance. The car has about 124k miles on it. My first question is about the transmission. It's somewhat worn and the car jerks when I put it into reverse or drive...even when it's warm. I'm not sure what the problem is and I'm wondering what could it be? If it's something expesnive to fix then I think I might convert the car to a manual transmission. Is this a dumb idea? I was also planning on getting a turbo. If the car stays an automatic is it ok to get a turbo for it? Also, what could I expect to get out of my car with a turbo?

I'm planning to keep the car for a long time since I've already put a lot of time and money into it

If your tranny goes out, Id make it a manual. But I think boosting an auto is a good idea, especially if you hit the strip. I dont know much about turbo, but i would think that the auto would help keep the turbo spinning, so it wouldnt have to re-spool each time you shifted. Since you have so many miles, dont run a lot of pressure. Stock LS blocks can handle 11 on stock internals, but I wouldnt run more than 8, especially if its a DD.

it's kinda fun driving around with a boosted auto. But the fact is the tranny will not be able to hold what your gonna be trowing at it.

As far as your tranny goes now. It might be a bad mount.

thanks for the opinions. I just had the mount checked and it seemed fine so I'm not sure what it could. I'm currently in the process of beating the crap out of my engine as an excuse to get a gsr engine with a lot less miles on it. I'm not so sure if it's worth putting a turbo on the ls and then having the engine go one day.

while your trying to beat the hell outta that motor most likly it will not blow. Hehe. There are 3 mounts that can go bad and make your car do what it is doing. I personally did the Auto to 5 speed on my integra and I love it. I did two others and there both happy. It's all personal pref.

If your not that experienced, it will be difficult.

Boosting an auto is ok, but it will not last very long. Get another LS motor, and do the auto-manual swap all at once.
