Default removing the plastic cam gear cover???

Is it a bad idea to remove the cam gear cover to expose the cam gears??
Or could debris hit the cam gears or mess something up??? has anyone taken theres off, Ive only seen cars in magazines with there covers off.

dont take it off, those cars in the zines and such r trailored to those locations. oil is rapidly flowing around in there and if u took it off, u would have oil all over ur engine bay. actually that is a popular spot for an oil leak, so if u take it off, get a new one

i think you misunderstood what i was talking about, The cover that goes over the cam gears, not the cam seals.

FROM WHAT I HEAR ITS OK. just dont let anything go in there, loose wires, hoses, squirrels.......jk. but i know if you replace the cam gears you musr re do the seals. the cover(from what i know is ok) also i wouldnt do it while driving in the winter, snow and salt........
